JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Planner I to provide support in all aspects of short-range and long-range planning; this is accomplished by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting ridership, estimating current demand, formulating recommendations for productive service, reviewing development project proposals, land use plans and other planning documents, consulting with other departments, external agencies, officials, and the general public, and producing related analyses and reports. Work involves statistical development, data compilation and considerable research activity to facilitate accomplishment of transit planning projects and reports. Work is performed under the supervision of the Planning Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and result obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in City and/or Urban Planning, Public Administration or related field. Two (2) years experience in planning; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Valid driver's license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in related field, transit planning experience including planning concepts, data collection and /or data analysis experience, knowledge of PBC Comprehensive plan and zoning codes, National Transit Database (NTD) reporting experience, advanced PC skills is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assists Senior Manager in developing and implementing Palm Tran’s strategic legislative plan. With general direction from the Senior Manager, leads analysis of proposed legislative actions, determines the potential impact on the organization and develops appropriate responses. Assists Senior Manager in maintaining and nurturing relationships with government, associated authorities and all committees, and legislatively represents and protects Palm Tran’s interests. Monitors current industry trends, and legislative issues at the local, state and federal levels to identify appropriate administrative actions regarding potential adverse impacts. Attend legislative sessions at the state and federal levels to facilitate the advancement of Palm Tran’s legislative agenda. Attends key stakeholder meetings which include, city council, Board of County Commission, Transportation Planning Agency (TPA) meetings and professional and transportation organization/association meetings. Assists in the preparation of Palm Tran’s agenda items for presentation to the Board of County Commissioners. Meet with policy makers, and staff at all levels, regarding legislative issues that impact Palm Tran, Inc., and the transportation industry at large. Initiate community outreach and engagement as required to advance the legislative agenda. Identify potential funding and/or grants to advance Palm Tran’s mission. Develop and implement outreach programs to advance Palm Tran’s public information agenda. Prepares comprehensive reports, correspondence and presentations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, is seeking Professional Bus Operators, with excellent customer service and communication skills. This position is responsible for performing skilled work operating all public transit vehicles on all scheduled routes and special service throughout Palm Beach County. Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed routes within set areas and maintaining records and logs as may be required along with accurate passenger counts. Position incumbents have the responsibility for the safety of their passengers and the vehicle operated as well as for completing the assigned route with the set time schedule. Employees in this position provide general information as requested. Schedules and days off are bid in seniority.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certification/GED. Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B with passenger endorsement “P” endorsement (must include a copy of your current driver’s license with application).

This position also has a high level of responsibility for overall customer satisfaction. Palm Tran, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced transit professional to assist in the development of operating schedules to assure service reliability and cost efficiency in Palm Beach County, Florida. This position conducts a variety of complex studies in the planning of bus service changes, additions and improvements. Responsibilities include analyzing bus service problems for potential changes, evaluating circumstances and suggestions for feasibility, cost and impact, attending conferences with representatives of public agencies and private business concerns regarding public transportation services, preparing technical recommendations for bids, and managing operator route reporting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Urban and/or Regional Planning, Economics, Geography, Business or Public Administration, Statistics, or a related field. Three (3) years of professional experience in transit or transportation planning; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. Valid driver's license.

PREFERENCES:
Extensive knowledge of Palm Beach County, knowledge of and relevant experience in: the management of public transportation (bus transit) service delivery and related elements. Strong, verbal, written, and computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft office applications. Extensive experience related to fixed route transit operations and service delivery, especially in multi-division/multi-garage operating environments strongly desired. Long range transit planning, transit planning development exp; exp working with Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), other governmental agencies or regional planning efforts. This is a highly responsible senior executive position which reports directly to the Executive Director. This executive organizes, directs, coordinates and oversees, the activities of Palm Tran's Planning Division including; scheduling, bus stops and shelters, strategic planning, grants programming, and research and analysis.
