JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Contracts Specialist; this is paraprofessional work involving the internal and external coordination of contract reporting and the monitoring of several aspects of contract management including compliance. An employee in a position allocated to this class, implements and expedites a variety of contracts agreements for materials, and services and other items in support of the functions of Contract Administration; assists with the preparation of formal and informal requests for proposal and/or bids, analyzes proposals and bids, makes recommendations of award and performs. Work involves contact with internal management/supervision as well as numerous other County departments, outside agencies and the public. Work is performed under the supervision of the Section Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and result obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification. Two (2) years of experience in the monitoring, compliance or administration of contracts and/or agreements to include one (1) year of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position.

PREFERENCES:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in related field, transit or local government procurement experience, experience with non-competitive & emergency procurement process, knowledge of service agreements, knowledge of transit procurement practices and regulations, basic contract terminology is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Planner I to provide support in all aspects of short-range and long-range planning; this is accomplished by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting ridership, estimating current demand, formulating recommendations for productive service, reviewing development project proposals, land use plans and other planning documents, consulting with other departments, external agencies, officials, and the general public, and producing related analyses and reports. Work involves statistical development, data compilation and considerable research activity to facilitate accomplishment of transit planning projects and reports. Work is performed under the supervision of the Planning Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and result obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Urban and/or Regional Planning, Geography, Public Administration or related field. Two (2) years experience in planning; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Valid driver's license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in related field, transit planning experience including planning concepts, data collection and /or data analysis experience, knowledge of PBC Comprehensive plan and zoning codes, National Transit Database (NTD) reporting experience, advanced PC skills is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is supervisory level work over classifications engaged in the maintenance, repair and modification of a wide variety of automotive and maintenance equipment, as well as classes engaged in skilled machining, welding, and metal working, and stock inventory and special parts planning and delivery. Employee in this position assign the work of skilled mechanic, utility persons and cleaners, and provide technical instruction and assistance as required. Work involves acting as mechanic supervisor and service line supervisor in planning and scheduling the activities of mechanics and maintenance personnel during an assigned shift. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day conduct of work, often over multiple shifts or work sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certification (GED). Valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement or CDL Learners permit (must include copy of driver’s license and/or permit and related certifications with application); five (5) years experience as a mechanic in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and two (2) years supervisory experience supervising ten (10) or more employees preferably in the heavy duty maintenance field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

PREFERENCES:
Experience in Mass Transit maintenance, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Maintenance related software is preferred.

This professional management position will work under the direction of the Director of Operations; the Senior Manager of Safety/Training & Compliance is responsible for developing a strategic method of workforce planning and management, as well as manage all aspects of safety programs for the entire organization with emphasis the operations and the maintenance section, compliance and employee training for various sections. Work involves directing the investigation and analysis of all Palm Tran accidents, interacting with all levels of employees and outside attorney’s. This position also performs a variety of complex safety program development, implementation, inspection, coordination, investigation, and evaluation of tasks in the areas of bus and industrial and construction safety

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Transportation, or related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in transit safety or transportation operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in Business or Public Administration or similar field; experience in vehicle accident investigation and analysis, working experience of GPS tracking system and trapeze software, Certified Safety Professional (CPS), supervisory/management experience is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Palm Beach County’s public transportation system in South Florida, is seeking an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is self-motivated and extremely organized. Major responsibilities include: Develop, organize, administer and monitor a comprehensive safety program to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety standards; conduct safety accident/incident investigations, makes recommendations to avoid recurrences and maintains company accident records per federal and state regulation; review, update and develop all surveys, instructions, reports and manuals. Leads training programs for new employees and in retraining employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Transportation, or related field (Additional Six (6) years in public transportation may be substituted for degree). Four (4) years exp of progressive responsibility in transit safety or transportation operations and two (2) years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Valid CDL driver's license with passenger endorsement (must include copy with application and/or resume). Working knowledge of the U.S Dept of Transportation Codes of Federal Regulation, Title 14.90 & 49. MS Word, Excel exp.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in Business/Public Administration or similar field; Trapeze software and GPS tracking system; Florida Transit Operator Trainer/Training certified is preferred.
