JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran is looking for skilled crafted individuals to perform vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repairs in a safe, efficient and timely manner. The incumbent in this position performs preventive maintenance and repairs on transit buses, mechanical equipment and support vehicles (both gasoline and diesel powered), including but not limited to engine adjustment, braking systems, steering/suspension systems, electrical/hydraulic parts and associated components; examines maintenance repairs on related equipment to company and/or manufactures’ guidelines to preserve the safety and reliability of set equipment. This is accomplished by working alongside of Maintenance Technicians and/or Supervisors as they complete inspections for vehicle deficiencies through the work order or preventative maintenance process. QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent recognized certification (GED) and four (4) years related mechanical experience. Valid CDL Class B driver’s license (must include copy of current driver’s license with application). Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must possess a valid Florida CDL Class B w/passenger endorsement and Air Conditioning Certification (608/609) at the time of appointment. Heavy-duty vehicle mechanic experience including electrical systems, air conditioning experience, and public transportation experience is preferred. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, the mass transit provider for Palm Beach County, is seeking a highly skilled Transit Scheduler to conduct a variety of complex duties in the scheduling and planning of bus service changes. This person will be responsible for assisting in the development of Palm Tran operating schedules (trips, blocks, run cutting and work assignments) to ensure service reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities to include analysis of the bus schedules for potential changes, evaluate circumstances and provide suggestions for feasibility, cost and impact. The Transit Scheduler will lead preparation for quarterly operator sign-ups, evaluate and present data, assist with NTD reporting as well as interact with public and internal stakeholders as required, etc. The position relies on experiences and exercises independent judgment on technical matters and in the application of professional scheduling methods. QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, Logistics or related field and a minimum of three (3) years’ full-time professional experience in transit, of which two (2) years involve transit scheduling. A minimum of six (6) years in transit operations and/or service scheduling will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Experience with Trapeze FX (or equivalent fixed-route scheduling software) and Microsoft Excel. Valid driver’s license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s degree in a related field, additional years’ experience in transit planning or transit scheduling, experience using AVAIL software system, ARC GIS. Mid-Large Transit Company experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran is searching for a well-rounded and detail oriented procurement manager with outstanding organizational skills to plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of all procurement and materials management for the department including contract administration, warehousing/stores, inventory control and purchasing. An employee allocated to this position in this class is responsible for the development and maintenance of Palm Tran standards, guidelines, and procedures for the procurement of supplies, equipment, construction, and services; and conducts the purchasing activities of the company and exercises contractual management of third party agreements and projects. The employee is also responsible for ensuring the achievement of contract administration and contract compliance in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and County guidelines. Work involves review of documents to ensure compliance with legal guidelines, contracting principles and cost effective constraints. Work also involves the coordination of activities with other departments and government agencies to ensure timely and accurate contract preparation and problem resolution. Work includes the establishment of comprehensive guidelines, policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration/Management, Public Administration or one of the Physical or Natural Sciences; major course work in Law; six (6) years of experience in contract management and procurement; experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procurement procedures and guidelines. Must possess a valid Florida driver’s license at the time of appointment. EQUIVALENCY Unrelated Bachelor’s Degree and eight (8) years of experience in contract management and procurement; experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procurement procedures and guidelines OR Associate Degree and ten (10) years of experience in contract management and procurement; experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procurement procedures and guidelines.

PREFERENCES:
Certification from an accredited procurement program such as NCMA, CPCM, certification from a program sponsored by NIGP, FAI, DAU or DAWTA. Five (5) years transit procurement experience of which two (2) years should be in a management capacity.
