JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. has an opening for a PR Specialist; this position coordinates a variety of informational projects to keep the public aware of Palm Tran's programs, needs, special projects and accomplishments. Work involves assisting with advertising campaigns, promotions, special events, and public information programs; assisting with the development of print materials and publications; writing news releases, articles, and other print materials; contributing content for the website and social media programs; organizing special events and outreach activities; conducting research; representing Palm Tran at external events and activities; and creating and conducting presentations to external groups and organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Relations, Journalism, English, or related field; one (1) year experience in public affairs or public relations work including publications writing; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License at the time of appointment.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in related field, marketing or public relations experience in transit or public sector, website design and graphic layouts experience. Bilingual (English/Spanish)/(English/Creole).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran is looking for an Operations Supervisor to support and monitor Bus Operators operating a fixed route service to ensure a safe and efficient environment for our passengers. The incumbent in this position will administer operators’ manpower needs for the current and next day; organize, prepare, and assign work to extra-board bus; determine and authorize the manpower requirements to maintain published schedules and services; manage control of radio communications utilized to maintain published services by directing bus operators and support staff. The incumbent in this position will authorize and direct information to personnel to reroute passenger services and vehicles when detour and schedule interruption situations occur; conduct accident investigations in accordance with guidelines; respond to, evaluate, determine, and coordinate emergency services; determine whether accident meets the definition of the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA) definition in determine whether a drug and alcohol test shall be administered to the operator. Five (5) years’ experience as a Bus Operator and three (3) years supervisory experience (eighteen (18) additional months of bus driving experience may be substituted for each year of supervisory experience). JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran is seeking Professional Bus Operators with excellent customer service and communication skills. This position is responsible for performing skilled work operating all public transit vehicles on all scheduled routes and special service throughout Palm Beach County. Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed routes within set areas and maintaining records and logs as may be required along with accurate passenger counts. Position incumbents have the responsibility for the safety of their passengers and the vehicle operated, as well as for completing the assigned route within the set time schedule. Employees in this position provide general information as requested. Schedules and days off are bid in seniority.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent certification/GED. Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B with passenger endorsement "P" endorsement (must include a copy of your current driver's license with application). JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, the mass transit provider for Palm Beach County, is seeking a highly skilled Transit Scheduler to conduct a variety of complex duties in the scheduling and planning of bus service changes. This person will be responsible for assisting in the development of Palm Tran operating schedules (trips, blocks, run cutting and work assignments) to ensure service reliability and cost efficiency. Responsibilities to include analysis of the bus schedules for potential changes, evaluate circumstances and provide suggestions for feasibility, cost and impact. The Transit Scheduler will lead preparation for quarterly operator sign-ups, evaluate and present data, assist with NTD reporting as well as interact with public and internal stakeholders as required, etc. The position relies on experiences and exercises independent judgment on technical matters and in the application of professional scheduling methods. QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, Logistics or related field and a minimum of three (3) years’ full-time professional experience in transit, of which two (2) years involve transit scheduling. A minimum of six (6) years in transit operations and/or service scheduling will be considered in lieu of a college degree. Experience with Trapeze FX (or equivalent fixed-route scheduling software) and Microsoft Excel. Valid driver’s license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s degree in a related field, additional years’ experience in transit planning or transit scheduling, experience using AVAIL software system, ARC GIS. Mid-Large Transit Company experience.
