JOB DESCRIPTION:
This administrative position will work under the general supervisor of Palm Tran's Paratransit Supervisor and Operations Manager; the purpose of this position is to performing the daily scheduling of paratransit trips to be provided by a fleet of dedicated sedans and lift-equipped vans. This is accomplished by using scheduling software to build specific routes for each of the program’s dedicated paratransit vehicles. The incumbent in this position must possess excellent communications skills and have a willingness to take initiative in a fast paced office.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent recognized certification (GED). One (1) year of paratransit experience; knowledge of the geography and road network; Microsoft Word and Excel experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position.

PREFERENCES:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field, experience with ADA or TD program, or previous transit scheduling or dispatching experience is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Contracts Compliance Coordinator; this is responsible professional and technical work analyzing and monitoring contracts, leases, bid matters and/or requests for proposals. An employee in a position allocated to this class works closely with the Procurement Manager and the Fiscal Manager by providing technical writing and professional assistance to user agencies in developing RFPs for services and goods. This incumbent assist in the development administration of procurement contracts, services, leases and maintenance agreements; advertises invitation to bid and request for proposals; reviews and evaluates bids and proposals; ensures compliance with Palm Tran’s policies and procedures; public contract code, and federal acquisition regulations. Work is performed under the supervision of the Section Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and results obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration or related field and two (2) years of experience in the preparation and/or monitoring of contracts; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Mobility Software Specialist/Trainer to manager and provide oversight for all of Palm Tran's complementary paratransit day-to-day operational system. This incumbent will plan, develop, and implement projects to streamline a more efficient and safe overall system functionality. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining all aspects of Trapeze PASS paratransit dispatching software, creating and analyzing various technical reports in conjunction with the sections daily operations, implementing a comprehensive in-house educational/training program for new employees and to improve employee skill performance at all levels. An employee allocated to this class must exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or related field. Five (5) years of experience in program management, human and public relations, and the delivery of social/human service programs in a government, community or private agency; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License at the time of appointment.

PREFERENCES:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is supervisory level work over classifications engaged in the maintenance, repair and modification of a wide variety of automotive and maintenance equipment, as well as classes engaged in skilled machining, welding, and metal working, and stock inventory and special parts planning and delivery. Employee in this position assign the work of skilled mechanic, utility persons and cleaners, and provide technical instruction and assistance as required. Work involves acting as mechanic supervisor and service line supervisor in planning and scheduling the activities of mechanics and maintenance personnel during an assigned shift. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day conduct of work, often over multiple shifts or work sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certification (GED). Valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement or CDL Learners permit (must include copy of driver’s license and/or permit and related certifications with application); five (5) years experience as a mechanic in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and two (2) years supervisory experience supervising ten (10) or more employees preferably in the heavy duty maintenance field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

PREFERENCES:
Experience in Mass Transit maintenance, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Maintenance related software is preferred.

Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a utility worker; this employee must be able to satisfactorily perform any type of service labor such as, but not limited to, hoisting, gassing, lubricating, and cleaning such vehicles, equipment, or units thereof as may be assigned by employer for service, including the maintenance of building and grounds. Incumbents in this entry-level job classification clean and service Palm Tran coaches, vehicles and related service areas; incumbents in this classification do not supervise others, but may provide direction to new employees on task and function. ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS: Exposure to extreme noise when interfacing within the shop. Decibel range of 85+ duration on an occasional level. Exposure to fumes/orders and chemical hazards when out in the field or shop. Subject to all weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and six (6) months of related work experience in a position successfully performing janitorial and/or industrial cleaning duties or a position responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and/or servicing of a variety of vehicles; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a CDL License (Class B) with Passenger (P) endorsement. Ability to lift 50 lbs.

PREFERENCES:
Transit bus or heavy equipment driving or mechanical experience is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Palm Beach County’s public transportation system in South Florida, is seeking an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is self-motivated and extremely organized. Major responsibilities include: Develop, organize, administer and monitor a comprehensive safety program to ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety standards; conduct safety accident/incident investigations, makes recommendations to avoid recurrences and maintains company accident records per federal and state regulation; review, update and develop all surveys, instructions, reports and manuals. Leads training programs for new employees and in retraining employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Transportation, or related field (Additional Six (6) years in public transportation may be substituted for degree). Four (4) years exp of progressive responsibility in transit safety or transportation operations and two (2) years supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Valid CDL driver's license with passenger endorsement (must include copy with application and/or resume). Working knowledge of the U.S Dept of Transportation Codes of Federal Regulation, Title 14.90 & 49. MS Word, Excel exp.
