Other:Must be currently enrolled in a state licensed college or university, 18 years of age and maintain student status for the duration of the appointment. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran’s Human Resources Department has an exciting opportunity available for a Student Intern. The Human Resources Intern will assist the Human Resources Department with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, and employee benefits. This internship will be both educational and practical. Must be organized, detail orientated, motivated and willing to learn. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification (GED). Must be at least 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a college-level or vocational program. Basic computer knowledge.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is supervisory level work over classifications engaged in the maintenance, repair and modification of a wide variety of automotive and maintenance equipment, as well as classes engaged in skilled machining, welding, and metal working, and stock inventory and special parts planning and delivery. Employee in this position assign the work of skilled mechanic, utility persons and cleaners, and provide technical instruction and assistance as required. Work involves acting as mechanic supervisor and service line supervisor in planning and scheduling the activities of mechanics and maintenance personnel during an assigned shift. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day conduct of work, often over multiple shifts or work sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certification (GED). Valid CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement or CDL Learners permit (must include copy of driver’s license and/or permit and related certifications with application); five (5) years’ experience as a mechanic in the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment and two (2) years supervisory experience supervising ten (10) or more employees preferably in the heavy duty maintenance field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Must possess and maintain a Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

PREFERENCES:
Experience in Mass Transit maintenance, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Maintenance related software.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, is seeking Professional Bus Operators, with excellent customer service and communication skills. This position is responsible for performing skilled work operating all public transit vehicles on all scheduled routes and special service throughout Palm Beach County. Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed routes within set areas and maintaining records and logs as may be required along with accurate passenger counts. Position incumbents have the responsibility for the safety of their passengers and the vehicle operated as well as for completing the assigned route with the set time schedule. Employees in this position provide general information as requested. Schedules and days off are bid in seniority.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent certification/GED. Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B with passenger endorsement “P” endorsement (must include a copy of your current driver’s license with application).

PREFERENCES:
Transit bus, twenty-two (22) + passenger bus, or heavy equipment driving experience is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is looking for a Planner I to provide support in all aspects of short-range and long-range planning; this is accomplished by monitoring, analyzing, and reporting ridership, estimating current demand, formulating recommendations for productive service, reviewing development project proposals, land use plans and other planning documents, consulting with other departments, external agencies, officials, and the general public, and producing related analyses and reports. Work involves statistical development, data compilation and considerable research activity to facilitate accomplishment of transit planning projects and reports. Work is performed under the supervision of the Planning Manager and is reviewed through conferences, written reports, observations of work and result obtained.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in City and/or Urban Planning, Public Administration or related field. Two (2) years experience in planning; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience sufficient to carry out the duties of the position. Valid driver's license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s Degree in related field, transit planning experience including planning concepts, data collection and /or data analysis experience, knowledge of PBC Comprehensive plan and zoning codes, National Transit Database (NTD) reporting experience, advanced PC skills is preferred.
