JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced transit professional to assist in the development of operating schedules to assure service reliability and cost efficiency in Palm Beach County, Florida. This position conducts a variety of complex studies in the planning of bus service changes, additions and improvements. Responsibilities include analyzing bus service problems for potential changes, evaluating circumstances and suggestions for feasibility, cost and impact, attending conferences with representatives of public agencies and private business concerns regarding public transportation services, preparing technical recommendations for bids, and managing operator route reporting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Urban and/or Regional Planning, Economics, Geography, Business or Public Administration, Statistics, or a related field. PREFERENCES:
Extensive knowledge of Palm Beach County, knowledge of and relevant experience in: the management of public transportation (bus transit) service delivery and related elements. Strong, verbal, written, and computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft office applications. Extensive experience related to fixed route transit operations and service delivery, especially in multi-division/multi-garage operating environments strongly desired. Long range transit planning, transit planning development exp; exp working with Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), other governmental agencies or regional planning efforts. This is a highly responsible senior executive position which reports directly to the Executive Director. JOB DESCRIPTION:
This is supervisory level work over classifications engaged in the maintenance, repair and modification of a wide variety of automotive and maintenance equipment, as well as classes engaged in skilled machining, welding, and metal working, and stock inventory and special parts planning and delivery. Employee in this position assign the work of skilled mechanic, utility persons and cleaners, and provide technical instruction and assistance as required. Work involves acting as mechanic supervisor and service line supervisor in planning and scheduling the activities of mechanics and maintenance personnel during an assigned shift. Incumbents are expected to exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in the day-to-day conduct of work, often over multiple shifts or work sites.

This is specialized professional, supervisory work overseeing the activities of Palm Tran's safety & training program. An employee allocated to this class works closely with the Director of Operations and the Senior Manager of Safety, Compliance and Training. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Palm Tran’s safety programs including, this is accomplished by developing and implementing safety programs; planning, developing, implementing and facilitating training; conducting investigations, inspections and audits; providing safety oversight; and reporting writing and review for both Fixed Route and Maintenance sections. QUALIFICATIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, Inc. is a Palm Beach County’s public transportation system that has an immediate need for a Senior Server Administrator to join its Information Technology section. The Senior Server Administrator will report directly to the IT Manager and will have full access to the server’s operating system, programs and recovery system utilities. The employee will be responsible for maintaining existing PHP scripted web applications, analyzing and recommending server system software configurations for any/all existing server platforms, planning, implementing, managing and operating support for all servers. Independent judgment is necessary to accomplish tasks and high degree of coordination is maintained with analysts, operations personnel, vendors and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Palm Tran, is seeking Professional Bus Operators, with excellent customer service and communication skills. This position is responsible for performing skilled work operating all public transit vehicles on all scheduled routes and special service throughout Palm Beach County. Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed routes within set areas and maintaining records and logs as may be required along with accurate passenger counts. Position incumbents have the responsibility for the safety of their passengers and the vehicle operated as well as for completing the assigned route with the set time schedule. Responsibilities include the development, planning, and analysis of planning studies, infrastructure planning, marketing research, federal/state/local government transit programs, as well as serving as a liaison to the business community, citizen groups, FDOT, Palm Beach County, MPO and other governmental agencies. This position will work with relative independence on routine technical matters and may function in the capacity of a project leader on assigned planning projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, Logistics or related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in transit planning. Must possess a valid Driver’s License, or be able to obtain one within the first 6 months of employment.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s degree in a related field, three (3) or more years’ experience in transit planning, experience with infrastructure planning/site plan review, moderate to advanced skills with ArcGIS and MS Office Suite.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Palm Tran, the mass transit provider for Palm Beach County, is seeking a highly skilled Scheduler Coordinator to conduct a variety of complex duties in the scheduling and planning of bus service changes. This incumbent will analyze the bus scheduling problems for potential changes, evaluate circumstances and provide suggestions for feasibility, cost and impact. In addition, the Scheduler Coordinator will prepare technical recommendations for the fixed route quarterly bids. The position relies on experiences and exercises independent judgment on technical matters and in the application of professional scheduling methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Engineering, Logistics or related field. A minimum of Five (5) years’ full-time professional experience in transit, of which four (4) years involve transit scheduling; experience with Trapeze, FX (or equivalent fixed-route scheduling software) and excel. Valid driver’s license.

PREFERENCES:
Master’s degree in a related field, additional years’ experience in transit planning or transit scheduling, experience using AVAIL software system, ARC GIS. Mid-Large Transit Company experience.
